Findus produces delicacies in shatter-resistant quality light.

Findus originated in 1941 in southern Sweden and quickly developed to become the number one Scandinavian frozen food manufacturer. Today it is a leading international Frozen Food business, operating in the Retail and Foodservice sectors. It grows, develops, produces and markets a complete range of frozen food products including vegetables, vegetable mixes, prepared meals, recipe dishes and seafood. Findus products are sold in at least 20 countries with own operations in all Nordic markets, France, Central and Eastern Europe and Thailand.

The production facilities in the small village Bjuv is one of Findus’ largest. The whole production is illuminated by fluorescent lamps from Aura, for economical reasons as well as safety and quality reasons. – We have purchased Aura Long Life fluorescent lamps for about ten years. We chose Aura because we wanted lamps with a long service life. We gain a lot by avoiding replacements, says Mats Bernhardsson, responsible for electricity. We have high ceilings in our premises and the production is running almost non-stop. This means the maintenance personnel only can do the replacements during odd working hours or when there is a production hold-up for cleaning. Findus in Bjuv has only Aura lamps installed. – We save costs for lifts and inconvenient working hours. And we don’t need to do the replacements so often. The longer the fluorescent lamp burns, the more time we have for other tasks, says Mats Bernhardsson.

Safety first
As a food manufacturer it is for Findus crucial the risk for foreign objects is eliminated. Mats Bernhardsson emphasizes that the food industry wants either closed and shatter-protective luminaries or shatter-resistant fluorescent lamps. – In storages we have Aura Protector. Aura Protector fluorescent lamp is totally encapsulated by a high quality durable plastic protection film. This coating protects critical areas from glass splinters and fluorescent powder in case of breakage. – We comply with the EFSIS Standard. We off course want to eliminate the risk of glass in the food.
