Aura signs contract with Swedish National Fortifications Administration

The lighting company, Aura, has signed a contract with the Swedish National Fortifications Administration with regard to the supply of light sources. The contract stretches over two years with a potential of approximately 10 million Swedish kronor per year. It is the single largest contract for light sources within the public sector in Sweden.

Aura supplies Long Life light sources that last at least three times as long as standard products on the market. It saves both money and the environment, since only a third of all potential light source replacements are needed. The environmental impact is reduced by two thirds when it comes to production, transportation, and waste, etc.

The Swedish National Fortifications Administration is landlord to the Swedish National Defence and one of the country's largest property owners. In addition to defence facilities, over 400 state institutions are dealt with in this contract, including the Swedish Road Administration, the National Police Board, the Swedish Tax Agency, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, universities and museums.

"With this contract, we want to make it easier for state institutions to choose environmentally-friendly light sources in a cost effective way", says Ann-Charlotte Eriksson, the purchaser responsible at the Swedish National Fortifications Administration.

This gives the majority of state institutions the opportunity to contribute to the welfare of the environment. "We at Aura are delighted that our products have been chosen and that we have a common desire to contribute to a better environment and lower carbon dioxide emissions", says Martin Malmros, CEO and Group Director at Aura Light International AB.
